Bio
Starting their career in Canada, Jesse Dombowsky pursued architectural technology and building sciences at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology. While studying, he gained hands-on experience during work terms, which included early exposure to Revit. By the time he began their first job, they were already a Revit expert, often training colleagues and solving complex challenges.
After a few years, Jesse shifted direction, aiming for dental school. However, a deeper passion emerged—one that led them to New Zealand in 2014, where he joined Jasmax, the country’s largest architectural firm. His time there deepened his Revit expertise, from creating simple architectural families to managing large, collaborative projects. Later, at Occam, he leaned into BIM management, documenting buildings and building digital workflows, becoming a pivotal, though unofficial, BIM manager.
Beyond traditional architecture, Jesse explored augmented and mixed reality. His fascination with the potential of 3D digital models in real-world environments inspired him to teach himself coding and start a new venture. Jesse aimed to transform how prospective buyers viewed architectural models through AR. While initial efforts with the HoloLens showed promise, the market was not ready, and the startup faced challenges.
Today, Jesse continues to push the boundaries of architectural technology, blending 3D modeling and construction documentation with AR. His work reflects a relentless drive to bridge the gap between digital design and immersive, real-world experiences.
This journey is far from over. With AR and MR technology advancing, he remains committed to building the future of architectural communication.
